One Day Fish Cookery Class

We all know Fish is an excellent source of nutrition, but cooking fish can seem daunting if you have very little experience of it.  If you’d like to introduce more fish into your diet but don’t know how, then this class is the perfect way to start, giving you confidence to understand what you should buy and how to cook fish to perfection.

Our one day fish cookery class is an introduction to a range of fish recipes that are easy to achieve at home within minutes.  The class will start by exploring different types of fish and seafood available locally, what to look out for when buying fish and the nutritional value of the different varieties.  In this class you will cook a number of different types of fish to enable you to experience different textures and types of fish and seafood.  You will also make dishes to accompany the fish so that you can create meals rather than just the fish dish itself, thereby giving you complete solutions.  You will learn to make a fish stock and then learn how to cerviche, sear, poach and pan fry fish, as well as create exciting sauces to accompany the dishes.

The ‘hands on’ experience of actually cooking your own dishes under our expert supervision means that you will have the confidence to repeat the dishes at home with ease.  By the end of the day you’ll have a tidy number of dishes to take home to share with your family or friends.

Impress your friends by recreating dishes such as:

Bouillabaisse

Pan-fried seabass with samphire and crushed new potatoes served with an orange Jus

Prawn & garlic linguine in a wine sauce

Seared tuna with a soy & lime dressing

Reviews

“The contents of the fish cookery class matched my needs perfectly – it gave me the confidence to cook and skin a fish and create my own sauces. The class was nicely paced and your tutor had great knowledge and was very enthusiastic.”

“Thank you for the excellent day of tuition on my fish cookery class. I love fish and I wanted to learn more ways to cook it and the class did exactly what it says on the can – but I am also now confident about how to buy it, where to buy it, what to buy, and I have 7 new recipes to cook different types of fish. The class was much more than I imagined it could be. A huge thanks, see you again for sure!”

Jacqui Burscoe

“I’ve always wanted to cook more fish dishes and having attended this class I now feel able to cook fish and enjoy it. The class content and format really exceeded my expectations. Starting with the introduction, where to buy, what to look out for and the different type of fish was really useful. The fact that so much of the menial prep was done meant that we could spend more time actually cooking, and that it was all hands on was fabulous. You asked how you could improve the class – impossible! 10/10 for structure, planning and delivery.”

Paul Kettering

“The contents of the day really matched what I wanted from this class, giving me so much more confidence and knowledge in cooking fish. I also learnt how to get that depth of flavour in the cooking process which was evident from the bouillabaisse dish - didn’t realise I could cook something so posh!”
