We all know fish is an excellent source of nutrition, but cooking it can seem daunting if you have very little experience of it. If you’d like to introduce more fish into your diet but don’t know how, then this class is the perfect way to start, giving you confidence to understand what you should buy and how to cook it to perfection.
Our one day fish cooking class is an introduction to a range of recipes that are easy to achieve at home within minutes. The class will start by exploring different types of fish and seafood available locally, what to look out for when buying fish and the nutritional value of the different varieties.
In this class you will cook with a number of different types of fish to enable you to experience different tastes and textures. You will also make accompanying dishes so that you can create meals rather than just the fish dish itself, thereby giving you complete solutions. You will learn to make a delicious fish stock and then how to cerviche, sear, poach and pan fry fish, as well as creating exciting sauces.
The ‘hands on’ experience of actually cooking your own dishes under our expert supervision means that you will have the confidence to repeat these at home with ease. By the end of the day you’ll have a tidy number of recipes and meals to take home to share with your family or friends.
You’ll learn to create a range of dishes such as; bouillabaisse, pan fried sea bass with crushed new potatoes, garlic and chili prawn linguine, and sesame and soy seared tuna.
