Tesco recently joined us at our Dunstable venue for an evening of cooking, learning and team building!
Our Dunstable location in Bedfordshire is an ideal location for larger teambuilding events, with three kitchens there is more than enough space for everyone to get involved. Delegates got to experience what it’s like to cook in a professional kitchen and find out what it might feel to be on Masterchef!
45 members of the people team joined us for a large corporate cookery event which began with a presentation on ‘The Alchemy of Food’ by our founder and CEO Kumud Gandhi, as well as an introduction to the food they would be going onto cook. The group was split into several groups to cook a delicious 3-course Italian meal including the obligatory pasta and pizza.
Our “ready, steady, cook!” challenge pitches teams against each other to cook the best meal of the day with points also awarded for team work, organisation and cleanliness. This format allows each delegate to get stuck in with cooking enabling them to learn skills and work with their team members; there’s no sitting on the sidelines when you have a cooking event with The Cooking Academy!
Once cooking is complete delegates sat down to enjoy their hard work and eat family style in the eating area. Whilst everyone tucked into the food, chefs Kumud, Sarah and Charlotte tasted the chef’s plates each team had prepared to choose the team with the most cooking talent. When everyone was finished eating the winning team was announced achieving bragging rights in the office the next day.
